The food was delicious and the entire experience was a delight. The restaurant definitely is on a different level and it's great you have the option of choosing one restaurant or the other.
What a great restaurant. I consider myself to be quite the foodie and a bit of a tough critic. Everything was to notch, from the excellent service from waiter David, to the bone marrow and squash soup appetizers to the perfectly cooked filet mignon and rack of lamb. Next to try will be the squash risotto. Highly recommend this place
I have never been disappointed, my girlfriend and I frequent both the Junction and the Tavern quite often... The Junction easily falls within my top 3 restaurants in the greater Burlington VT area.
I've dined here for dinner twice now and both the wait staff and food have been outstanding. Last time our reservation wasn't ready but drinks were on the house while we waited. I saw another review complaining about cold food and I cannot see how that is possible as everything is prepared in front of you and put under heat lamps while the rest of your parties order is finished.
The overall experience was delicious! We sat at the chef's table which made it very entertaining to watch as they prepared their food. The chef came over to us and gave us a delicious taster of cured salmon and it was the best part of the meal! Our service was fast, not very informative or personable but maybe due to sitting at the chef's table and not a regular table. We would come back again!
The junction is one of two restaurants of the Essex resort and spa hotel. Whilst the tavern serves locally sourced food and is more of the standard restaurant the junction is the posher of the two. The food was excellent and The overall experience was very enjoyable. You get to choose a variety of courses and can watch the food being prepared whilst you sit and enjoy the evening.
